Help is at hand for users of Smart numbers who have frustrating experience while dialing the 0-700 and 0-800 smart number series.
Alpha Technologies Limited, Nigeria's largest cross network personalized number service company has embarked on a massive awareness campaign to teach subscribers how they could dial these numbers with ease.
Mrs. Maggie Peter, Managing Director of the company said unlike the usual text messages on mobile phones, letter on the smart number phone key pad are related with the respective digits by punching each of the keys to get the numbers needed.
"Smart Numbers are simply dialed by punching the key pads that contain the letters one wish to spell once, as the case may be; and only figures will show on your telephone screen. To dial A, B or C, press keypad 2 once; then for D, E or F, press 3 once; for G, H or I, press 4 once and so on", she said.
The Smart number system uses telephone numbers whereby letters associated with the number digits on the telephone spell a name or word of value to the subscriber. It could be a business name, services offered or product lines including UBA, 0-700-Care-hire, 0-7-flash me cash among others, according to Peter. She said the dialing process is applicable to all other networks but reminded users that though the 0800 numbers are toll free, because only the recipients of calls are billed, the 0700 series, which is often utilized by government and corporate agencies are normally charged.
"It is a new era where business has to move with what you are known for. It is a brand people have been waiting for. We do not give you new numbers but we add value to the existing number. It is also useful in an environment where yellow pages are poor . Alpha Technologies Limited has the capacity to offer the service to the Nigerian market. Any company that has not subscribed to our Smart Number services is losing business. Any business that does not carry a 0-700 or 0-800 numbers is losing profit.
